In this cold weather..
It inspires a lot of people to bake. After you've finished cooking, leave the oven door open and warm the house up. Save your heating bill!

This is one of my favourite things...... Except I tend to then stand in front of said opening oven and eat freshly baked treats!

Some people heat their houses with their ovens. For some models this releases carbon monoxide. There are people who try to do this in the winter and die of carbon monoxide poisoning. Please do not do this as a major mode of heating in your household, it can kill you. I hope no one has gotten hurt following this very poor advice...

Dear Anonymous.

Thank you for your sage advice, maybe I should clarify that you should turn the oven OFF first. I merely meant (and wrote) when you have finished baking.... let the residual heat escape to warm the house, I'm sure you agree, there is no health risk in that?! :)
