The woman accused of letting her 12-year-old daughter drive three other children to daycare says she's not guilty of the charges.
32-year-old Angela Joy Parenteau appeared in Great Falls Municipal Court Friday morning. There, she pleaded not guilty to all four counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of children, and one count of allowing an unauthorized minor to operate a motor vehicle.
Officers say Parenteau allowed her 12-year-old daughter to drive three younger siblings to daycare on Wednesday. A worker at Merri Moms Daycare in Great Falls reported the incident. Police say Parenteau later claimed she was too sick to drive and on medication.
Parenteau's bond was set at the maximum for these crimes. She was booked into the Cascade County Detention Center later Friday morning and posted the $6,425 in bond. As part of her release conditions, the judge instructed Parenteau to attend parenting classes.
Her trial is set for July 23rd.
