Now we all know that Lego is a stalwart in childhood play and learning. I even love sitting there with the kids and lego for a bit of creative play. These days though I am much more hung up on colours, I like to have all my bricks the same colour for the walls, make elaborate floor plans... basically I'm a wanna-be architect.
The kids will scold me for hogging all the pieces or heaven forbid, taking away all the 'good pieces'. So I don't play too much these days. Maybe I can do that whilst they are school this year... ahem.
So the Lego Creationary game is how I now get my Lego fix. It's a great little game and it took a little practice with our five year old frills but they are getting GREAT at it. Basically everyone picks up a card and you pick up pieces as you move around the board and build something on your card in secret. You need to disguise for as long as possible what you are building - and the first person to guess - gets points and so on to move around the board. Laura is fantastic at guessing!
Garbage truck anyone?
Olivia won because she built hers first and how easy is a lamp? Seriously!
My future engineer!
Pretty tulip
There are 4 modes of play so you can play it different ways depending on the ages - I won't encourage you to make it a drinking game.. but if you should find yourself with some friends and the game and drinks .... so be it.
So who would like to win some for their family? No alcohol included people! Seriously though a fabulous school holiday distraction for everyone!
Lego are generously allowing me to give away 3 Lego Creationary Games valued at $49.95 each!

The MOST fun I've done this school holidays (and most expensive without knowing it) is go cherry picking in the Yarra Valley. The boys picked 10 kilos of cherries, so it ended up being a very expensive day at $10 a kilo for cherries!!!!!
Th emost fun thing we've done these holidays was a trip to the beach, it was perfect timing, the water was filled with kite surfers which fascinated the older 2 boys no end!
My Filly's still little, so the most exciting for her these holidays was spending lots of time with her daddy. Poor thing was so lost when daddy had to go back to work! Nothing like hearing her squeal in excitedment whenever he gets home <3
The MOST fun thing we have done this holiday was to go to the Aquarium and Wildlife world. They have an amazing Lego display at the moment. Wildlife world also has a lego play room. Jacob keeps telling everyone all about the huge lego Shark we saw.
The most fun I have had these holidays is spending a cheap and cheerful holiday down in Austinmer (near wollongong) housesitting for a friend who was overseas. 500m from the each, views to die for and FREE!
also enjoyed taking my 1 y.o to the beach for the first time. she loved the sand... too much! covered from head to toe!
We haven't been out a lot, due to illness and bad weather, but we've enjoyed each other's company by playing together. My five kids have built Cubby houses in the rumpus with blankets, and turned empty Christmas paper rolls into light sabers. Biscuits have been baked, picnics have been had and we've been able to have fun regardless ...
The most fun thing I have done this school holidays is take my nephew mini golfing followed by a trip to the lollie shop to choose a treat. It was great to spend time with him :)
The most fun thing we have done so far is going to the beach at least a couple of times a week. While the people in the East have the rain and floods to contend with, we have been having 30-35+ temps so its been lovely being outside swimming, kicking the ball with my son and watching my youngest learn to crawl and explore his surrounds.

We took the kids 4wd'ing, found a beach with no one else there and had the best day swimming, running, had a bbq and swam some more. When we eventually got home, they were so so tired, but filled with comments of 'can we go again?' and 'that was the best day ever!!'
Playing in the puddles in our backyard we don't have a pool but our yard was a pool yesterday and we are very blessed to not be flooded like so many others here in QLD
We love creating things here :) so far the most fun I've had would be making big spiderwebs and spiders with my boys which we have hung up in big tree in the front yard.
We have just started on our big cave - we've got the chicken wire all shaped and now have to paper mache around it and then paint when it dries. It will be big enough for both my boys to hide it. I can't wait to get started on the paper mache part and then see the delighted look on my boy's faces when it's finished.
Then it will be time for me to start sewing and hopefully make them some bear suits :)
Oh and going on the slip n slide with the boys each day has been so much fun :)
Water bombs on the trampoline!
The most fun we have had during the holidays are the three picnics we have been on..we packed up some yummy lunch goodies, bought fresh bread and chocolate milk and went down to the marina to sit by the boats..
It was so nice to just relax and spend time together as a family, and it was easy and cheap too!
the most fun we have had during these school holidays is waterskiing and wakeboarding with the kids.
The best fun we've had this hols is a family Mountain Biking day.. We spent the morning riding the trails at Lysterfield Lake park before a great lunch by the lake. We then headed across to Buxton for a ride in the afternoon. Burgers for dinner at the Buxton Roadhouse finished off a great day perfectly.
We've had lots of outings these holidays, but the most FUN we've had was last night Mr 4 & 6, husband and I raided the cutlery drawer and put on a half hour long concert through the house to the delight of Mr 1
The most fun we've had this holiday is just hanging about at home, waking up late and not having anywhere we 'have' to be. Also a few games of mini golf have so far been my son's favourite.
How cool does that Lego game look!
The most fun we have had is to actually spend quality time with the family, ie my husband has been home too. My hubby usually does long hours and works Saturdays too, so to spend the time as a family of 4 has been brilliant. My sons have loved it.
We actually played Creationary at my in-law's place over Christmas and it was so much fun. Unfortunately they live too far away for us to borrow the game so it would be great to have our own copy! Especially so as it evened out the playing field for me (and the kids) given we are the only non-artists and designers in the family ;)
Not sure if this was the most fun however, that would have to have been psyching the kids up on Christmas Eve with visits to Christmas lights, making reindeer food (oaks and sparkles) and putting up the stockings--so much fun to see their excitement!!
xxHelen
Our little family has learned to play bocce together this Summer. There have been plenty of laughs and lots of fun :-)
This looks awesome Liss!
We had the funnest day last week when we drove with my parents to Wilson's Prom, we built dams on the beach and sat in awe of the beauty of that place. We drove home exhausted but whipped up an amazing feast, put the kids to bed and sat outside chatting with my folks late into the evening. A great memory.
Just tweeted this too.
The most fun we've had this holidays is waving goodbye to the in-laws... LOL
The most fun thing we've done these school holidays is something we haven't even done yet.. haha we're going to the Gold Coast next week to take the kids to Dreamworld and Movieworld for the very first time!
Prices on the kids faces = priceless
price of the holiday all up = unfortunately not priceless.. eep
Lego is so fun! It bought me so much joy when I was growing up, and now our children.
These holidays have been a trial, but we have been making the most of them! Our most enjoyable experience so far would have to be packing up a picnic dinner - we went for an afternoon swim at Norah Head on a hot afternoon, followed by our picnic dinner overlooking the water, while we all laughed and wriggled on the picnic rug. Perfectly fun!
The most fun thing we did was go to that unusual spaceage construction on the Opera House forecourt to spend a wonderful time inside the wonderful coloured bubbles that are Mirazozo - Architects of the Air. The shrieks of glee were a delight to be heard. It's a real treat for the young, the very young and the not so young.

The most fun we have had these holidays are those few days after craziness of Christmas, we just spent them at home playing backyard cricket, even our 17 month old son joined in.
The most fun so far was "Yesterday" swimming with cousins in their pool and going to see Tangled together, then out for pizza for a birthday.
I tweeted @mylittledrummer
Hmmm, the most fun thing we have done these school holidays?? Most probably playing in the rain!
What I have done that is the most fun.... well I am not sure the birth was fun but the most special was having our new baby and little sister for our eldest daughter. It will be more fun once the pain goes :)

The most fun activity these holidays for us has been a week of camping on the south coast of NSW with a great bunch of friends, no TV/computers and plenty of beach time. Already planning next summer's adventures!
OMG Lego!! how did i miss this! Obviously having too much fun on school hols!!!
Well for me the most fun bit has been no routine or timetables!
For Josho i think it would be finally having the courage to jump off the tarzan swing into the river.
Jayden's would be building a lego atlantis under sea base station from a picture he found in a book, awesome! has been ongoing for days now...
and now we are going to have fun making the new pizza base on your blog :D
The most fun we've had this school holidays would have to be our son's first surfing lesson at 7 - he had an absolute ball, and our 2 year old got to love the surf - jumping in the waves with mum and dad - the baby was sleeping, all in all a perfect, fantastic start to a day!!! Sun, surf and great company :)
The most exciting thing we have done these holidays is going to a farm and having the children feed the baby lambs, goats, ducks and milking Daisy the cow. We even got to ride on a tractor and pat a koala. A great day that the children will never forget.
My babes aren't quite school age yet but the most fun they have had these holidays is getting together with their older cousins who would normally be as school!! Their favorite thing to do with their cousins so far was go to the local park for a BBQ lunch and lots of fun running around.
The most fun we have had has been bike riding in a local estate (where there is no houses or cars... just lots of roads.. its brand news)
Its been so good as our backyard is so small, Emily hasnt been able to properly ride a bike.
SO with no cars (or houses) we have been able to let her ride for long stretches and shes finally (*YAH*) been able to ride the bike. James brings his little "motorbike" plastic push along bike and he loves to try to catch up with Emily.. without much success!
Now we just have to work on Emily learning to use the brakes :)
I think the most fun we have had these holidays is spending time with the family over Christmas. Really nice everyone not having to rush off home.
