Tell me how you spoil yourself and win $250 to spend at Myer plus $250 worth of Lindt!

Spoiling yourself is so relative isn't it?

I remember spoiling myself would be going on a holiday or buying myself a designer label... going to a three-hatted restaurant.  These days spoiling myself may mean a hair cut, new underwear or a few hours to myself to read in peace.

Regardless of whether you're a mother or not, on a budget or not everyone needs spoiling every now and then - giving yourself permission to be spoiled is a struggle for me at times, but we all deserve it - I think a little bit of spoiling can put things in perspective and make the daily grind 'do-able' again.

So my friends I think you all need a bit of spoiling, and so do Lindt - they've given me a package of a $250 basket of chocolate goodness plus a $250 Myer voucher for you to well and truly spoil yourself.  And friends I mean YOU.  Not new pyjamas for your little one, not a birthday present for your auntie... this needs to be all about YOU.

So to enter you need to:
  • Leave me a comment here telling me how you will spoil yourself with this prize
  • An extra entry if you post a separate comment telling me how you like to spoil yourself for  under $10
  • Enter only once in the above two methods
  • There will other ways to enter too - find out on 16th May!
  • Entries close 31st May 2011
  • Entry open to those with an Australian postal address

Now, if that's not enough, Lindt are also giving away 5 x  1,000 photo sessions with Lindt Lindor for Mother's day. Join Lindt on Facebook  - to submit your entry before 8th May!

Good luck and share this with people you think need some spoiling! xxx

Oh, lovely! I'm thinking that I'd go to Myer and buy myself some new pjs and some luscious bath stuff and then soak in the bath with a book while nibbling my way through some of the Lindt.

Kirsty S said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Oh, and for the bonus "under $10" comment... a piccolo of bubbly and a block of Lindt hidden away until everyone is asleep and then I curl up on the couch and indulge. :)

JodieD said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Sitting here thinking about what I could spend $250 on, I do automatically think about what I could buy the boys or that hubby needs a new jacket! But the the next thing I thought of is how wonderful if I could go to Myer and pick out some of my most desired bake wares, I love cooking/baking, it relaxes and excites me, and to be able to have all the little gadgets and pans I want would truly make happy!

JodieD said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Under $10 - is so easy!

A day in bed, uninterrupted, to read a book i got at Christmas and off course chocolate!

Anonymous said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Spoiling myself - that is something I'm trying to remember how to do. Shopping alone sounds divine right now .... buying things without thinking about little pink people :) Ohh Yes

Anonymous said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

For under ten dollars. Coffee with a girlfriend (and again no little pink people :)

Marcia C said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

I'd splurge a food processor, no more bashing biscuits until they turn into the desired texture by hand!

Marcia C said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Under $10...
An at home pedicure,
nothing makes me happier than looking down at pretty coloured polish.
I use Ulta3 polish($2.25 @ Terry White chemists)and a homemade sugar scrub (brown sugar, olive oil and vanilla essence).

Oh Liss, this is awesome!
I'd spoil myself by going crazy with the $250 in the Myer craft section. Then I would come home, set up in my little craft corner with some Lindt and wait to be inspired. Aaah bliss.

Christie on May 1, 2011 at 8:07 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

For under $10 I love to spoil myself by having a splurge in the local op shop. Amazing what you can pick up for that little!

Diminishing Lucy on May 1, 2011 at 8:15 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

For $250 from Myers I would be speeding along there so fast to buy new pots and pans. For real. I know that doesn't sound very pampering or luxurious, but I so very badly need and want some decent quality cookwear and utensils. Our current pots and pans are scratched, with all the non-stick beginning to flake. (They were cheapo in the first place.) I want to ditch them & treat myself to new, but there is never enough in the budget.

Diminishing Lucy on May 1, 2011 at 8:18 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Treating myself for under $10 would be easy - Lindt chocolate and a few hours of peace to read books in bed, home alone. Chocolate and books and peace in my bed, home alone, with the radio on MY station, even better.

Is it tragic to realise I just want my house and my bed to myself occasionally?!

xx

Megs on May 1, 2011 at 8:28 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

I'd spend the $250 at Myer on luxurious sheets, perfect to snuggle up under with the Lindt and a good book. Mmmmm.

Girlie dvd,a box of Lindt chocolates i dont have to share, perfume, pjs some something nice to wear turn the phone off lock the door a me couple of hours id adore

The $10 budget splurge, my favourite way to spoil myself at the moment is a deep, hot bubble bath, glass of wine, chocolate and the bathroom door locked. Bliss!

$10 would buy me a treat a mag and a block of my favourite Lindt to eat

muppy on May 1, 2011 at 8:34 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

I struggle to really say what I would do to spoil myself, something I haven't had the time or money to do for a really really long time. What I love most is to spend my day with 'the girls', my gorgeous friends from way back, in the past its been bowling, karaoke, dinner, you get the picture. So if i had a voucher I would buy myself a really special outfit and organise a really special day with my friends, the races maybe? And of course we could all pig out on the chocolate together!

muppy on May 1, 2011 at 8:35 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Under $10 i would say having a coffee and cake by myself at a cosy little cafe.

Take a break from being the goddess of domestic duties and on a fine day read a well treasured book in my beautiful garden.

I would spoil myself by booking nothing but time for me to go shopping at Myer on the one day a week I don't work (ostensibly my "day off"; in reality my "fadmin" day!). I would spoil myself with the time to buy perfectly fitted jeans, which would be a treat that would last a long time!

Kim-Marie from Kimba Likes on May 1, 2011 at 8:59 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

For a spoil myself moment for $10, I'd visit my local second hand bookshop and delight in their 7 for $10 box. Buried treasure!

Impish on May 1, 2011 at 9:00 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Took a moment to reply: was too busy gurgling with contentment in my head. $250 of Myer would give me a new wardrobe. Five years of on/off pregnancy means my wardrobe is badly in need of an update as everything is stretched shapeless or no longer fits my new curves (thank you age, gravity and children!)

Impish on May 1, 2011 at 9:02 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

For under $10, I'd be abandoning the children with the husband, taking my book, my camera, a picnic blanket and a thermos full of hot chocolate to the park. Sunshine, daydreams, fairy toadstools, butterflies, a moment alone with my thoughts. Slice of heaven.

almag on May 1, 2011 at 9:04 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

I wouls spoil myself by buying new underwear. I am still in maternity bras even though I stopped breastfeeding over a year ago. The kids always seem to need something and my poor supported boobies have to go underwire free for another month (trust me they need the underwire to stop them bootscooting!)

almag on May 1, 2011 at 9:06 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

With the $10 I would buy a small packet of lindor balls and some plastic ear plugs, lock myself in the toilet and eat everylast one of them without hearing a single whinge from the kids!

Marita on May 1, 2011 at 9:51 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

I spoil myself by going away for a weekend, all by myself. Staying somewhere nice and enjoying the silence and a chance to shower alone, go to the toilet alone, drink coffee while it is still hot.

I'm lucky my wonderful husband is happy to look after the girls for a weekend. When I come back I'm refreshed and ready for family life again :)

Marita on May 1, 2011 at 9:53 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Spoiling myself for under $10... easy a morning aqua aerobics session is $5, a coke zero & chocolate bar for after I get out and then relaxing at home watching some of my favourite shows. I love the feeling of calm that comes after being in the water :)

My mother has had a shocking year of bad luck and health problems. If I win this prize, I will treat her and I to a day out in the city to visit Myer in Pitt St Mall.

Mr B on May 1, 2011 at 9:56 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Now for the bonus comment, for under $10 I take myself to Gloria Jeans (when both kids are in school and preschool), grab a book and relax. Even for 30 mins its heaven!

♥.Trish.♥ Drumboys on May 1, 2011 at 9:58 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

With $250 I'd spoil myself with a bread machine because I've never had one and really want one.

Then I'd get measured for some new good bras because since I'd stopped BF twins I've only bought good one. Love Myers bra department for quality, range and fitting.

CamillaS on May 1, 2011 at 9:59 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Wow, great prize Liss... well the $250 at Myer might go towards some baking stuff and some good books to read.

CamillaS on May 1, 2011 at 9:59 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Under $10, I love to spend the night on my own watching a movie and painting my nails!

♥.Trish.♥ Drumboys on May 1, 2011 at 10:01 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

It such a great idea to brainstorm how to spoil yourself with $10...

Rope daddy into minding the boys and take myself out to buy a magazine and read it quietly at Gloria jeans and sipping a hot chocolate and nibbling something sweet.

Wow! I would be heading to Myer for some gorgeous new satin pjs and pretty underwear. Maybe even a matching set for once! I'd then dash over to the book section and grab a couple of old favourites like Wuthering Heights and Little Women. Then i'd head home and curl up on the couch... bliss!

Carly Findlay on May 1, 2011 at 10:05 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

I'd spend less than $10 on a bottle of Bailey and Bailey moscato and drink it in the bath while listening to Angus and Julia Stone. Bliss.

Oh and for the splurge under $10?
My favourite me time at the moment is buying a new nail colour and giving myself an at-home Manicure. There is something really wonderful about not being able to do anything while the colour dries. Plus when I'm done, my nails look gorgeous!

This sounds fantastic!!! with the myer voucher I would buy the dress I have been eying off for months but cant afford and with the chocolate, I wouldn't be doing myself any favours if I ate it all myself so I would share with my mummy friends so they can spoil themselves too and treat myself when the kids are in bed with the rest!

following the blakes on May 1, 2011 at 10:13 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

I would head straight to the kitchen department in Myers to find a gadget that I don't own...My husband calls me the Gadget queen..but I believe if it makes life easier and can save time than I should own it...whatever it is...

My brain just sighed. So thank you for that! (no, that's not my relax for under $10 entry, by the way)...

With $250 I'm thinking I'd finally get myself a good coffee percolator. Stove top, probably, rather than a coffee machine. My mum had a percolator she'd use when they had guests. I was too young for coffee then but I saw it as the height of decadence. And now, of course, I adooore coffee (Too much) but don't have a good machine of any kind at home to make it myself!

Being Me on May 1, 2011 at 11:09 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Under $10? A huge soy latté and a book, in the park, on my own. On grass, under a tree. ... Er, that's grass as in "to lay on the grass... on the ground." Just clarifying that one! LOL.

To simply go to Myer without little ones would be a treat in itself, without even spending the money! If I 'had' to spend the money I would buy a lovely warm jacket for winter that didn't fall apart like the cheap ones I usually buy - then it'd be off to the food court to spend the change!

I would love to go to Myer and spend $250 on girlie stuff like, skin products, perfume, make up, silky pj's and something pink. This is because I live in a male dominated house with my two little boys, my husband and my 42kg puppy dog and it's nice to take time out and feel pretty sometimes.

Louise F said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

I'd spend the Myer voucher on a beautiful new doona cover a sheets to add the finishing touch to my bedroom makeover. And as for the Lindt hamper, I'd get a real kick out of standing in the local mall and handing blocks out for free! After all, we've just celebrated Easter and I'm all 'choc'd' out plus sharing it around would be lots of fun!

The things I *need* will eventually be purchased, so the way I'd indulgently spoil myself would be to hit up the Chanel counter for a bottle of Coco perfume and a facial. Whatever change I have left might be spent in the sport section on some proper socks for cycling (I discovered the joy of cycling in thick socks in the rain today - they get VERY soggy and heavy). I don't need the socks, but gosh they'd be a treat.

Juz Shacklady on May 1, 2011 at 3:18 PM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

For under $10 - it's all about tea. The ritual of making a pot of tea is the most perfectly indulgent activity. The world stops around me, I focus on the leaves unfurling and dancing in the hot water and lose myself in a few moments of calm bliss. But I can do that for about $1 a pot. With the change, perhaps I'd sneak a little cake or some cucumber ribbon sandwiches to accompany the tea.

Bec on May 1, 2011 at 3:30 PM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

For a 10 it would definitely be a magazine a piece of cake and then 10 mins to myself to enjoy both!!

Grace on May 1, 2011 at 9:43 PM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

$250 in Myer - I'm thinking Le Creuset cookware so I can spoil myself with lovely cookware and the family 'wins' too (though that said, I would LOVE to buy me a new handbag...)

$10 - a serving of rice paper rolls and a drink at my local pho place, sharing it with my bubba while she eats an ice-cream cone dipped in the hoisin sauce, lol!

Anonymous said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

mmmm, @ Myers with $250? My first pleasure would be to browse, browse, browse, with no children, no curfew, no empty purse! Perhaps a delicious new fragrance and shower gel, mini speakers for my iPod so I can listen to my meditation music and blissful grabbing of other little bits that take my fancy, completely UNashamedly, and guilt free! And I might even have a free little make over at a posh make-up counter and buy a pretty lippy :)

Anonymous said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

and for $10, a cuppa with a girlfriend, most definitely, my treat :)

Anonymous said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

oopps, forgot the Lindt!! Would share it with my girlfriends, with cuppas and no kids!!

Anonymous said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Wow - $250 at Myer, all to myself... What to do, what to do??? I think I'd buy some new shoes (I have runners and a pair of well worn black shoes that leave my feet black after wearing!!!) - I desperately need new shoes! I'd also buy some new clothes, because my birthday is coming up :) So luxurious...

Anonymous said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Spoiling myself for under $10 - I'd have an uninterrupted day at my sewing machine, using up my stash, created some cute clothes and drinking coffee, eating chocolate (lindt of course!) - what better way to spend a day!

I would have to head straight for the MAC counter and have a makeover, then zip over to the dresses and find myself a lovely new dress before running over to find some shoes to match...what a lovely dream..in reality i would probably head to the casual clothes section and buy myself some sensible yet stylish everyday clothes to give myself a daily pick-me-up instead of wearing the same old mummy-uniform...

Lauren on May 2, 2011 at 10:42 PM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

If I won this prize, I would go to one of the big Myer stores in the city somewhere(not the little ones near where I live), and spend hours looking around at everything before making a final decision. I'm stuck wondering whether I would buy new shoes, or clothes, or kitchen gadgets, or books... perhaps if I was clever, I could buy all of those things, and still have change?

Lauren on May 2, 2011 at 10:44 PM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

For $10?
I would buy a copy of mindfood magazine, and sit down with that, and a coffee. It's my favorite magazine- it always has interesting stories (not just celebrity gossip), and recipes, and some pretty things to look at!

Ann-Maree said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Ok, so to truly spoil myself I would take that $250, head to Myer, find the cutest salesman in the store and let him lavish attention on me as he persuaded me into buying whatever he was trying to sell!
The way I spoil myself for under $10 is with the creamiest, most decadent, frothiest, chocolatiest concoction my local coffee shop sells.

Jodie on May 3, 2011 at 8:40 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

How to spend the $250 at Myer - maybe a new food processor or one of those new slow cookers you can brown the meat in and then just pop it in back into the slow cooker.

Oh to spoil myself. I would put a $250 Myer voucher towards a mixer, something that I have been coveting for a while. I have been so inspired by your blog Liss of late that I have been making a lot of dough based food for my family & having a mixer to help me along would be wonderful. And I am pretty sure I covet $250 worth of Lindt on a daily basis so that would be awesome ;-P

I would spend the "under $10" taking my wonderful Mum out for coffee (& I'd throw in some cake) to treat us both :-)

meimayy on May 3, 2011 at 10:54 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Oh how amazing! $250 worth of Lindt - my favourite chocolate. I could indulge myself every single day but that is awfully unhealthy. I'll share a little with my family and friends but the majority will be for me. $250 to spend at Myer - I definitely need a new coat for winter. Maybe a trench or duffle coat.

Juanita on May 3, 2011 at 11:41 AM said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Well Lindt is my favourite chocolate but I could also do with some makeup/skincare/perfume from Myer.

Esse Devi said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Just looking at that basket of Lindt is making me feel all indulgent.
I would share the lindt out with all the lovely people who have helped our family so much. It would feel so nice to give something delightful back.
The Myer voucher would be a family splurge, buying the iPod dock we've been talking about. My daughter and I have fun making our own playlists, we are looking forward to being able to hear them through decent speakers someday soon.
So fun to think about. :-)

Esse Devi said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

As for under ten dollars...
I would buy some epson salts, Excellence Mint Lindt chocky and have a totally decadant bath at about 2 am, when it is quiet and peaceful.

Deidre said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

Believe it or not, I wouldn't actually have to spend the $250 at Myer to spoil myself. The spoiling myself bit is just being able to meander aimlessly through the store for as long as I like (snacking away at the lindt block in my handbag), as slowly as I like, looking at whatever I like, without having to 'speed shop' and narrate every action to a bored 2year old then rush back home to make a vegemite sandwich before naptime....Bless him, I love my little Felix, but he's not the best shopper.

Deidre said... [Reply to this amazing comment]

As for the 'spoil myself under $10' entry. I make a homemade chocolate self sauce pudding, serve myself a huge bowl of it, slathered with double dollop cream, get into a big hot bubble bath and eat my way through the pudding!

I worked out the other day that it's only been 9 months in almost 5 1/2 YEARS that I haven't been pregnant or breastfeeding!! (Resulting in 3 young and close in ages children!)

So to spoil myself, I'd buy a couple of NEW bras, not maternity bras, and ones that fit! I've been wearing the same ones for years and I can't do up the straps any tighter, they seem to have stretched so there's not a lot of support there anymore. I'd also buy some new tops for myself. Again all the ones i've worn for the last 5 years have been for ease of breastfeeding or to cover my constant baby bump!

I would LOVE to buy these things just for me, so I feel womanly again. :)
