Time out

It's been a crazy couple of weeks.  My Nan's stroke, work, kids, life - and of course this wonderful place in cyberspace.... some days it feels like I'm on that treadmill, getting no where but really, life does go on and each day I achieve something. Yesterday I tweeted 'I just need a couple of extra days in the week to get everything done, get enough sleep and keep everyone happy' and I wasn't joking.

Today, I'm just going to do what I enjoy.  Think about the deadlines tomorrow.  Or maybe panic about them before I go to bed....

I'm cooking a little.....
Because this is ultimately my joy.   It helps me unwind, create, connect.  Cooking is my meditation chamber....

I'm admiring a little...
This orchid which used to live at Mum and Dad's house for years - when they moved to Cairns, four years ago, Mum left it with me - this is the first year it has flowered.. (and how!)

And this is our little blueberry bush - blueberries aren't well known for surviving in the Sydney climate - but this is our second year, I think they will be out of the pot after this summer.... can't wait to pick and eat them!

I'm reflecting a little..
On my lovely frills - I took the little ones to a Gusto (Italian food festival) on the weekend and they got to do cooking classes - it was fabulous.

My hubby.  Oh my, he is my rock.  Without him, my life just would not work, on millions of levels.

And maybe, just MAYBE... I'll get to read my backlog of food-porn I've been dying to get to..

If you could strike 3 things off your to-do list right now and they would be magically done - what would they be?

You are so right... Sometimes it's just good to contemplate on things. That'll help.

Good Job!

How wonderful that the orchid has flowered like that...

I actually posted today about having a "bad day plan" because yesterday (and many recent days) have been crazy. If I could strike off 3 things magically they would be dealing with centrelink or whomever about childcare rebates, cleaning my house (we are dogsiotting for a month and eww the hair is everywhere), and cooking (so not my happy place but a chore for me)

Packing, hemming and errr...more packing. And volunteers?

I need the bathroom cleaned, someone to take out the awful white stones from the garden so I can plant pretty flowers, and I'd really like my cupboards organised!

And I hear you on the food porn. My stack just turned into two stacks because I'm so behind. But Veggie Baby has just started to giggle, so I'm spending all my time pulling stupid faces at her so she'll do it again :)

only three!
New kitchen - I am so over no bench space, no grill and one hot plate.
Gardening - I prune it grows back! I don't mind gardening but its the boring stuff that is now out of hand.
Tax and filing - its all stacked up ready to go but urggghhh.
Funny though isn't it when you look at someone else's three things and think oh really? Huh I would do that no worries...... Or is that just me who'd take packing and sorting cupboards over gardening

It is tug o war sometimes. The moments of silence are the most precious ones sometimes.

Your photography is great!

3 things that I would knock off are paying off my car loan, painting the walls in my house and cleaning up the yard.
