Anyways, we'll pay it off, but I'm NOT impressed. That goodness we've got a gas heater for the loungeroom now and the colunm heaters are GOING.

Grocerywise - good week - well a few wins. I ordered some groceries from Homeshop and frustratingly enough they totally buggered up my order - sent me coke instead of diet coke, the wrong brand and type cereal and bread, sent my shampoo and conditioner with each of them open (!!) and in the end, they allowed me to keep the wrong and open stuff and credit me the cost of them, plus my delivery fee - a credit of $68... which I used towards my top-up shop.
*I also went to check out a 'wholesale chicken and egg shop' with farm prices in Quakers' Hill which a total disappointment - more expensive than the farm and markets/supermarkets too - it turns out the only thing procured on the premises were the eggs and the reason for their inflated price was because they used 'specialised feed'. Well! There was seriously the worst crumbed chicken I had ever seen (it was yellow!) and I left empty handed and annoyed I'd left better priced and quality produce behind me at the farm and abbatoir. Never again! I ended up having to buy my chicken locally... which was much more expensive! Annoying!

Good grief, that's horrific. We have gas heaters in living areas and they are way more economical than that. How distressing for you.
ours is $200 less. and i know why ours is huge. unfortunately boyfriends father doesnt get it.
if you run a ducted air-con all day every day during winter and tell us in our room which heats up within minutes to open the window because hes too lazy to put a jumper on and waits until the loungeroom heats up. its a huge space and takes ages to!
then. every morning he uses the dryer. [i wont say anything too much in regards to this. as i too use the dryer] but for me. the heater is the main culprit. and his lcd tv. he leaves everything in standby. we turn everything off at the power point when done. [that can be a real energy sucker.]
im sorry yours is so high. im not sorry about ours. i know why it is. im forever asking to turn the damn air-con off cause i was going to be afraid at this bill and well. its huge!
I got the shock of my life when I got our electricity bill this week. Our bill is normally around $350 give or take but never over $400 for DH me and our daughter. OMG Imagine my face when I pulled out a bill that read $900!!!! We still are dumb founded as to why it's so expensive. The only thing we have added this winter from last winter is another heater. And no way it was on long enough to run up an extra $500 worth :/ Oh well....
Our bill has also gone up. Power charges have increased and so has our usage with the dryer being needed so much of late. Must get sorted with an undercover clothes line
