Reality Bites: Everyone's losin' it!

I'm back !  Last week no reality bites, I was off doing my pink ribbon morning tea.. it's nice to be back in un-reality-land!

Everyone's losing it this week, some bombshell episodes this week!

The Apprentice Australia -woohooo.. some true colours turn out.  Carmen with the evil stare returned and Gavin-the-game-player played to win.  Something (ok nearly everything) about Sabrina gives me the irks.  Insincere, full of shit, you know, FAKE.

Bye bye Carmen, god knows who's going to employ you now!

Talking of FAKE, Kelly Bensimmon - you need a reality check honey.  Seriously. So much crying, so little (or no) tears.... On the Housewives of New York City Reunion show I think all the girls have got you pegged now, and you're in a world of hurt - bullshit only gets you so far.  What an explosive reunion right?  It was FANTASTIC.  Can't wait for next weeks' episode.. shame it's the finale!

Finales.. sad that the last episode of Tabathas' Salon Takeover - whoah, crazy-loco - an owner who had multiple personalities and talked about herself in the third person.  Poor Tabatha not only nearly vomited but had to get a clinical psychologist to help her sort through the emotional rubble.  Whoah.  I will really miss this show - so glad there's a second series happening as I write!

Celebrity Masterchef  - Few surprises...  Fuzzy can cook, Alex Lloyd is dyslexic, Peter Rowsthorn, funny in real life.  Fuzzy's calamari salad had my tastebuds tingling. mmm... refreshing.   The dessert - whoah.  I would have loved that challenge as I'm all about icecream at the moment!  Off we go to semi-finals!
Kirk Pengilly, Eamon Sullivan, Michelle Bridges, Simon Katich, Rachel Finch and Alex Lloyd.

Reality Bites: Sour taste in ones' mouth?

Celebrity Masterchef
Loved Celebrity Masterchef this week.  Loved it.  Funny that Alex makes Spanakopita the same day I put the recipe up on my blog.  (Delicious by the way!).  Thought it was pretty gutsy of Wendy to put up Rabbit, and Simon Katich having no sense of smell?  That's gotta make it tough!

I don't know what that green stuff was that Wendy dished up, but I wouldn't have eaten it.. looked like something from the paediatric ward. Having Stephanie Alexander as the guest judge - how fantastic!! I love her. Love, love LOVE her.  I probably would have gone with the same pressure test option - though I can already make lemon curd, that does help!!

It was almost comical watching those layer cakes coming out to be judged, it was like the pompeii of layer cakes on show - lava-like curd, everywhere.   Alexs' was a bit tart, found that amusing on a few levels.   Simon can't make jelly, but he won anyway.....

The Apprentice Australia

Our teams descended upon Mudgee and I think it was obvious from the outset who was going to win.  Mary-Ann is a winner where there's food and beverage concerned and I think she has some pretty shrewd business acumen quite frankly, nice management style.    I can't see what Heather has to offer to be honest.   I think perhaps she should have gone instead of Blake. But then again, Blake whinges behind the scenes, doesn't articulate his opnion properly and then almost sabotages the team effort.  I think Heather or Gavin are going next...

Real Housewives of New York City.
Here I go on my Kelly rant again  - what is up her arse!!??  The whole rolling eye-huffing-puffing-"I won't indulge you Bethanny"-bulldust.. it's a bit OTT - obviously very threatened by Bethanny and what I think is absolutely ridiculous is she's feigning that she's the mature one. What the hell?

I think even the Countess is realising Kelly's a superficial superbiartch.

AlexSimon are funny.  The whole showing off the bottom floor of their house when the other two or three levels are construction zones?  I mean, you're sleeping in bunk beds people with no proper bathroom but your 'reception rooms' are decked out to the nines.  Priorities?  All for show much? hmmm. amusing.

Thank goodness we didn't see much of Ramona this episode.  Brilliant, would like more of those please.

Exciting to hear of some developments in Bethannys' life -engaged AND having a baby.  Best of luck to her - some happy times ahead (and she doesn't have to marry her gay hairdresser either!)

The Fashion Show
It was all about designing for real people this week, it certainly wasn't a comfortable medium for a few! What's with Jonny? 'I don't really deal with 'real people''.  Umm that's who the market is dipshit!  Maybe he should go work with Karl Lagerfeld?  Interesting challenge.
Fave looks: Daniella, Lidia

Dog look:  Keith, Anna

Tabatha's Salon Takeover
I love this show - Tabatha's got real star quality but this weeks' episode wasn't really doing it for me.  Not at all.  The owner was shitting me to tears (and quite obviously Tabatha also) there was just no hope really.

Reality Bites: Bat your eyelashes ladies!

The Apprentice Australia
The big slice of the pie - well it was an interesting episode - Carmen is still being underhanded and fluttering her eyelashes and practically applauding everything Mark Bouris says.  Sabrina this week was fluttering her eyelashes at Gavin, the girls' project manager this week.  It was just icky.  In fact, that whole girls' team could get sponsorship from a mascara manufacturer!

Team Aventus had their act together, Team Pinnacle were a mess.  The outcomes were not unexpected to be honest.. the infighting was interesting and amusing.

Real Housewives of NYC
Kelly, Kelly, KELLY.  Get your shit together.  Honestly.  If you want to be the Mum that does the Halloween thing with her kids how about you NOT schedule a party for the same night and leave your guests to pay for their own drinks and wondering where the heck you are?  Decide what you are!  You have made Bethannys' point for her I think.  And when she said 'well I had to keep it a bit modest because you know, I'm a Mom'. Um, you wore a wide-stitch crochet swimming costume on your invitation and came to your party dressed as a playboy bunny honey!!  I hate to think what you might wear if you weren't a 'Mom'

Did anyone think that LuAnns' trip to the shops to spoil her daughter was a little umm... odd..?  She ended up shopping for herself?  Jill proved herself a socialite with a head and a heart with the work she's doing with charity.  Love that.  Ramona.  There is no way on the planet I would buy anything that Ramona was involved with but seeing her do her spiel for HSN I'm thinking 'this is where she belongs, talking CRAP about CRAP.

Rachel Zoe Project
I'm starting to see Taylors' point.  I love Brad more every week.  Rachel is now starting to tell every designer how to design.. what is with that? New York Fashion Week - shows, schmooze and suck up.   I loved Anne Hathaways' gown at the Oscars and like last week, I loved seeing it all come together.  But seeing the dress on the hanger makes me wonder if Anne even eats?

Tell me does anyone know what the heck Rodger actually does?

New Zealands' Next Top Model
I found myself watching this thinking 'well we have to remember the population is small, so the budget would also be small'.  Some of the castings wondered how much was for entertainment value and how much was actual modelling potential.

Sara Tetro seems to have it as far as host-material is concerned and the model-turned photographer Chris is gorgeous but Colin...? Where did HE come from?  Wa-wa-Nee?

The girls, hmm the girls.  Some real biartches, some princesses, some labotomy victims, and some seemingly normal girls - the regular NTM mix.

Celebrity Masterchef:
Who would have thought fish-boy Eamon Sullivan could cook?  Not me!  Anna and Simon did really well too, I'm actually quite impressed with the calibre of all the celebrity contestants this season!  When they give the choices for the Pressure Test each week I find myself gritting my teeth and looking with one eye open!  They look so HARD.  But hey!  It's got to be right?  That duck had me wanting to lick the screen!  (Not a good look huh?)

Tabatha Takes Over
This weeks' episode was such a step up.  I felt myself encouraging these 'scissor sisters' to get their acts together and instead of being frustrated and annoyed with them I started feeling empathetic and wanting them to succeed and Tabatha did certainly gave them what they needed to blossom.  Very uplifting overall!

The Fashion Show
The week of the shoes - ooh beautiful shoes!  All the contestants were asks to design an outfit inspired by the designer shoes the models would be wearing. Reco and Daniella bring it again this week - I loved Recos' design and I'm not surprised he won - however some real stars are emerging and I'm starting to see fashion rather than personalities.

Below is Daniellas', Johnnys' and Recos'

and the losers' Andrew...

Reality Bites: Did we learn anything people?

Masterchef Australia

I enjoyed this episode much more this week, and I saw things that inspired me to cook.  To me, that's important!  Kathleens' leche flan looked amazing, and I must MUST make it.  I will be hunting down that recipe, I'll tell you that for nuttin'!  Peter was entertaining, as I knew he would be!  Bless, he's just adorable in a rogue-ish manly way (a bit like my hubby truth be told!)  Michelle exposed me to a new spice, which now of course I must hunt down - all in all an enjoyable episode.

The Apprentice Australia

The attack of the killer breakfast cereals... Oh dear lord, I'm starting to wonder.
Can they do a double eviction next week? PLEASE  Carmen and Sabrina.  Or maybe just put them both in a jelly-pit perhaps?  That will get ratings right?  The boys stategy of 'love will lead the way' came undone this week and I enjoyed watching their cages get rattled in the boardroom.  I love Mark Bouris and I do love his approach but I'm also wondering how much is scripting and how much is rating strategy?  I'll be watching next week regardless!

Tabatha's Salon TakeOver

Holy dooooooly.  What a freaking NIGHTMARE.  I hope Tabatha is raking in a lotta bucks because seriously these people are hard work!!  Stacey... concentration camp?  Seriously?  I gasped when she said that suspected that all staff would be made into lampshades!!  Dear me!!

Rachel Zoe

D.I.E.  and it's not how Zoe means it.  She's so painful at times, really.  I'm starting to understand Taylors' mood swings, and Brad, well I just love Brad.  He's the real star of the show for me... so camp, he just needs a brownie outfit!  I must say it is interesting to see how the outfits come together and recall the stars' wearing them on the red carpet.  I remember loving Anne Hathaway's dress on the day, so to see it come together was pretty cool.  How amazing would it be to go to Cartier and just choose anything? Wow.

The Fashion Show

I know they want designers from all different backgrounds and aesthetics, but I think it's a bit too mixed up.  I'm not feeling any favourites, okay, maybe one or two (Daniella, Anna, James-Paul and Reco)  but I'm feeling more non-favourites which I think is why maybe this show is getting an all-round cool reception?  Despite the winter coats, there's just too much back-biting.  It makes it a bit bitter, rather than exciting and inspiring to see someones' talent come to life.  Good thing I love Isaac.

Reality Bites: Bombes Away!

Celebrity Masterchef
Ahh felt like I was home.  I just adore this show and missed it so much!  How wonderful that it was Kirk on tonight.  Huuuge INXS fan, and he's also a local (to me) AND we love Layne don't we?  Josh who?  Indira Naidoo - I had no idea she had a blog! I'm a loyal follower now!

First challenge up was to create a signature dish.. oh good lord, Josh was all over the joint - literally.. but his dish looked yummy, I was surprised. I thought Kirk was caned, but he reigned victorious!

Then onto Bombe Alaska - I LOVE Bombe Alaska.  I want to make it now, but maybe just for hubby and me.  That was an unceremonious disaster - my mum makes it look so easy, eek.  Indira's looked pretty good..  Josh, well good try, Kirk's the winner even with his fig icecream -hehe. Through to the Semi-finals.

New Housewives of NYC
This was an enjoyable episode.  The long-awaited tennis match between Jill and Ramona and her ubervain husband Marco (does he salon tan do you think?) Simon becoming Jills' partner was just genius, g.e.n.i.u.s. Ramona although tried not to react, was reacting, I found this hilarious.  Jills' apartments' makeover ... eek.  me-no-likey.. sorry Jill - but I know you love it. You live in it!   Kelly seemed to redeem herself a little but meh I have not alot of love for her still.  Go Bethenny!

Found this on Youtube. Hilarious if you're a watcher:

The Fashion Show
Still so love Isaac.  I'm so happy he's on TV again.  I love the Bank vs Budget challenge.  I would love to do that!

Tabatha's Salon Takeover
Boo-frickety-hoo.  These owners really do need a swift kick up the rear-end.  This guy Martino is 300g's in the red and has a baby-grand and a ferrari.  Honestly..!!  Can't understand why his business doesn't work when he tries to be everyones' friend!  She made him cut up his credit cards!!

Next weeks' episode is going to be a doozy from the previews, bring it on!

The Apprentice Australia
I wasn't expecting to like this - but I actually like the Bossman - Mark Bouris - doesn't hurt that's he's hot too right?  Carmen.  Oh.my.god.   Too.much.  hurts.my.brain.  The boys bonded well.  Many haven't shown their true colours yet but those who stand out to me are Lynton and Sabrina.

Reality Bites:

Australian Idol - I have broken up with you again.  I loved you for the first few years and then things just weren't exciting me anymore.  I had thought we might be back together this year, but now I know, we're not meant to be.  Bye bye.

Tabatha - if I were to turn gay for anyone I think it might be you.  Your directness and acidic wit have me in raptures!  No punches to be pulled, you are ON FIRE.  Peoples if you are not watching Tabatha takes over you are m.i.s.s.i.n.g OUT.

The Fashion Show
Well I love Isaac Mizrahi.  Fell in love with him back in the 90's when I saw his film Unzipped.  To me he is fashion.  So I just have to watch the show, if only just for him.

But this show I thought might be a rip-off of Project Runway - but it's not.  It fits into sister-type show.  The Fashion Show centres in on ready-to-wear and the commerical side of fashion.. The contestants aren't really what I would peg as the "next biggest things" it's a bunch of every flavour designers - avant garde, underwear, evening wear, street wear, BEWARE.  I'm sure some if not most of them were also cast for the possible drama factors, there's some cooky characters there.  This show will not bore.

Reality Bites: Heroes of yesterday, today and tomorrow...

Australian Idol
What the HECK is going on?  How could our Ashleigh be booted so soon?  I suppose because she's not a 19-23 year old male?  The teenyboppers feel threatened by her?  I just don't get it.  I did find it amusing how someone disagreed with almost every critique Dicko gave.  Poor Dicko...hehe.

Suzi Quattro - interesting choice - at first I was little 'huh?' but she did seem to pass on some real wisdom to let's face it, some people who REALLY needed it.

Favourite performance - meh, can't pick one.  Isn't that sad?

Real Housewives of NYC
My opinions have not changed much from last week - Jill is funny in her uptight way... Ramona needs to get her head out of la-la land and stop thinking she's gods' gift... AlexSimon super annoying.   There are times I don't actually mind LuAnn but there is coming close to no time I'm not thinking Kelly thinks her shit doesn't stink and the whole cast are just lucky to have met her.  ick.  And I see next week Bethenny is going to call her on it.  Looking forward to that.

Tabatha Takes Over
Oh I likey.
Direct. Disturbing. Dead Brilliant.

'Why are you crying?  I hate crying, why don't you channel those emotions into something more useful like WORKING?'  Oh how humiliating.  but she had some great things to say, honestly, she really helps these people and is totally OK telling people what they need to hear, whether they like it or not.  It's brilliant seeing that Aussie 'call a spade a spade' come through 'Your wife really does have a stick up her arse at times, you know?'.

I'm hooked.

Project Runway Australia Finale
OK, so Anthony wins the Rosemount Challenge - at least it wasn't Lauren.

Anthony's stillettos and stockings, and skirt.. that he is WEARING. hmmmm

Simon Locke. Something about him oozes style.
He loved Anthonys' collection.
Lauren broke his brain I think.. she ditched the orange cowhide.
I *think* Simon was saying to to William to drop the Nanna Dressing-gown fabric...and focus on the beautiful chiffons..?

I was literally holding my breath in the lead up to the show..

First up - Lauren
See-through-y-blacky-cocktaily.  Cohesive.  Loads of different cuts.  Simon was most pleased.

Second up - William
Ohh lala.  ove the red first up .. even Nanna dressing-gown didn't look too bad, but the reds and the pinks were DIVINE.  The black dress with the red bolero (showstopper)got plenty of wows...

Third up - Anthony
With a watering can on his head -I don't think anyone was prepared for what was going to come out.  Innovative, out of the box and truly avantgarde. The last two dresses were both worthy showstoppers.

And the winner is... Anthony!
Pleased for him, a bit sad for William but they both did SO well. Proud of my boys :)

Reality Bites: Part 2: Curtains are opening and closing

SYLISTA
Finale - curtains are closing...
We open with the final three - Dyshaun, Megan and Johanna.
Dyshaun says he's a trendsetter, People can google Megan apparently and article from Vogue come up, Johanna feels she's born for it.
Grilling with Robbie - Editor in Chief
Dyshaun confesses he didn't know much about Elle when he arrived however he then tells us he knows the Elle woman. Weird.

Johanna was candid, articulate and laid it on the line. Asked a good question, I think she nailed it.

Megan she tells Robbie that she dropped out of college, had a clothes shop, and then quit it - screamed to me that she has a short attention span, and didn't have any questions which Robbie seemed shocked about.

Robbie sent Megan home - she seemed to take it really well...

Next challenge is to create the cover for Elle using music and fashion icon Eve.
Surprise, the final six reunite (Megan, Danielle (token fat girl) Kate (crazy biartch) Ashleigh). Kate and Megan needled each other and then Megan had a breakdown... couldn't work with Kate and it was just too soon for her really to be helping someone else after her loss.  Was kinda funny to see her lose it after being the darth vader of Stylista.

Dyshaun had no idea how to deal with Eve.  She didn't like the majority of the clothes he had chosen and didn't look impressed for most of the shoot.  This showed in the pictures.

Johanna seemed to tap into Eve a lot better but took it upon herself to make all the creative decisions on her own - Kate and Megan had another spat - both were being ridiculously immature.. meh.

In the end both layouts looked really good.
Johanna
Dyshaun
Dyshaun was convinced he'd won... with a 'oh, are you nervous? Oh that sucks for you...' with a confession to camera 'it's right here in my hands, I'm about to walk out with it'...he was eating those words moments later when Johanna was offered the Junior Editor position....bwaaahahahaaa.

PROJECT RUNWAY AUSTRALIA
The penultimate episode - the curtains are about to open..
Down to the final three here too - William, Anthony and Lauren.  I could see the boys being there from the start- Lauren's the only surprise but she has shown some pretty innovative stuff..
On viewing the progress of her collections - stop-breathe-don't-panic was good advice.  I couldn't make sense of it.... but that's nothing new for me lately with Lauren..

I'm not crazy about Williams' colours - but we'll see what happens in the end...

Anthony's is so avant garde, but that tubing?  Leave it at Ikea mate.
Then there's nothing like a surprise challenge and an extra party frock to create.  Not too keen on any of them to be perfectly honest... probably Williams' cut appeals most.  The other two look like they were stuck on with hollywood tape...

And then there's the cliffhanger - who had the best party frock and has it showcased on all of Rosemounts' wine bottles? We don't know!!!  Like houseofturtle said on twitter ' It ended tonight like most of my dating experiences! All show and no prize!'.  Couldn't have said it better myself.

So who's up for Tabitha next week?  Oh I LOVED her (well loved to hate her in a patriotic way - she's an uberbiartch) in Shear Genius.. oohhh.

HOUSEWIVES OF NYC
Ramona, Ramona, Ramona.  When are you going to learn? (never)
Oh my god, could she get any further up Kelly's butt? It's embarrassing no?  Clearly she embarrasses her daughter on a daily if not hourly basis. She truly thinks her daughter is intimidated because her mother is still 'hot'.  Oh dear Ramona, you've been doing too much botox.  Five pairs of shoes 3,763!
LuAnn (Countess ex-Mrs de Lesseps)
Rosie is the mother in that family, isn't she? As my mother-in-law would say 'she has airs'... At first when I learned she was shipping her daughter off to boarding school I felt it might be to mainly to uncomplicate her week-day social commitments.  But this week, yeah I think it's got all the right motivations. I may have been wrong *gasp*
AlexSimon (one person you realise)
Can't believe what a sham their life is!  Their house has no walls when they return from holidays, but they seem more pre-occupied with which parties they got invited to than calling their contractor? What?  I think Bethanny got it right when she said they should forget about their book on raising toddlers in NYC, but rather how to get to an A-list party through the AC vent!
Bethanny -I love Bethanny.  Sign me up to the Bethanny Fan Club.
Ironically she's not got kids or a hubby and she's the most stable (mentally) of the lot! How cute was her date?  I was hungry after that!  It would be nice as a chef to be cooked for.. hell it would just be nice to be cooked for right?
Jill -Tell it like it is..
She cracks me up - and doesn't talk crap, on the defence too much though... to look at I keep thinking of Joy Behar from the view - are they related? The funny and less funny versions...  the look on her face when she saw AlexSimons' place...? bwhahahaaa.
Joy
Jill
Then again, Kelly and LuAnn look alike too... maybe they have the same plastic surgeon?
